Children in Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 had a wonderful time at Knowsley Safari Park this week. On the 'Safari Tour' they saw a huge array of animals including buffalo, baboons, lions and reindeer. The weather was warm enough for the children to enjoy their packed lunches outside before they all went back indoors to watch a spectacular

The Edmund Rice 7-a-side football tournament took place at our fields and was organised to raise funds for our twin school, St Martin's in Liberia. The final was tightly contested between the current title holders, Litherland Moss, and St John Bosco Catholic Primary. After a thrilling game,with extra time played, the final score was 1-0

4 pupils from St Mary's College had an amazing experience recently when they went to Jeffrey Archer's penthouse apartment on the River Thames to interview him for the next edition of The Mount's 'Rainbow' Magazine. It proved to be a fascinating afternoon allowing Georgina and Matthew from The Mount to practise their interviewing skills

The Mount is part of St Mary's College, Crosby which is a 0-18 independent co-ed school. It is for children aged 4 to 11 and is sited in nearby Blundellsands.

Pupils were asked to come to school today wearing something red with their normal school uniform, to mark the 250th Anniversary of the birth of Edmund Rice, founder of our school. Socks, ties, hairbands and caps were the order of the day and the children brought in a small donation to raise funds for our twin school in Liberia.

All returned safe and sound, having had a wonderful weekend.

We have had word that the children and staff on their way, having just left the Manor. It looks as if the rain hasn't put in an appearance there yet. They will be stopping off at the Lake District National Park at Brockhole. Any change
Year 4H went with trowels and spades to help plant some bee friendly flowers around our beehives. Manuka, borage and lavender will be ready when our honey bees arrive in May.

Yoga started at The Mount this week for the children in Years 2, 3 and 4. and they were suitably relaxed by the end of it.
At the sessions they learn yoga postures for strength and flexibility, which build body confidence and co-ordination. They also master breathing techniques which help concentration and
